The social program complements the scientific program of the SILAE Congress and it will create many enjoyable occasions to mingle, talk, meet old friends and make new ones, in the special atmosphere of Sorrento and Napoli.

Join the official Opening Ceremony of the 29° SILAE Congress
During the ceremony, there will be words of welcome by the President of the SILAE, the Chair of the Congress and
a folklore performance.
The Opening Ceremony will be followed by a Welcome Buffalo and Wine Party in the Lounge Hall of Grand Hotel Vesuvio.
Preparing a cheese plate for wine tasting? Follow our instructions to start combining cheeses, meats and other snacks with wine! Obviously the queen of the party will be the Mozzarella di Bufala Campana
Calabrian Chili Party

Calabria is considered the home of chili peppers. The recipes of Calabria reflect the territory of a region that offers robust and spicy cuisine, whose flavors have always been genuine with an important production of oil, cold cuts and cheeses. The chili party accompanied by scientific reports aims to make known the Italian peppers, its history, its culture. SILAE promotes study and research on its production, on its qualities and its use in the field of gastronomy, cosmetics, pharmacology and medicine

Whoever stops by Naples, shouldn’t miss a walk through its historic center with an archeologist! They ‘ll guide you through the most remarkable historical/art spots of the city, with a particular focus on uncommon locations off the beaten track. We’ll stroll through the Greek/Roman “layers” of Neapolis. A UNIQUE experience that’s combined everything Napoli has to offer *This is not a religious tour but a mix of art, history, culture, cults, facts, stories… -Start from Piazza Bellini (the heart of Naples) with a Greek archaeological site under your nose, walking through the ancient streets (Roman grid road system!) of the “Decumani” and Spaccanapoli, enjoy Monuments along our tour such as the God Nile sculpture or the Free Masons hidden symbols; stops to Gothic and Baroque churches as S. Lawrence, S. Domenico and the Cathedral (to understand the Miracle of S. Gennaro’s Blood). We’ll pass the unique nativity scenes and artisans quarter of San Grergorio Armeno and we’ll see the exclusive BANKSY mural (and TONS of street art on the way!).
