Researchers investigate the antiinflammatory properties of the knot extract of P. sylvestris and  identify the active constituents and molecular mechanisms behind the immunomodulatory effects. The results reveal that two pine stilbenes, pinosylvin and monomethylpinosylvin, are powerful anti-inflammatory compounds both in vitro and in vivo.
